'Frankenstein' made in 1910 was the first motion picture adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. This film was one of a kind and the films that 'Frankenstein' has inspired are endless. The character we were first introduced to evolves from a mindless killing machine into the depiction of ‘The Monster' as a kind of tragic hero. Some of the films that have been inspired by Frankenstein are The Bride, and Van Helsing, which in themselves have been very popular. This work was an inspiration to many directors today and even though there have been many remakes, the original still keeps its individuality.
