The first feature-length film was in the early years of cinema, The Story of the Kelly Gang (1906, Australia) had a running time of between 60-70 minutes. The first concerns that the film producers had when making movies this long was that the audience would not last through a film that was an hour long, and nowadays we sit through some films that are three hours long. The Story of the Kelly Gang was remade many times, notably as Ned Kelly (1970) in which Mick Jagger was the lead role by Tony Richardson and more recently the remake in 2003 with a cast including Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom and many more.
